{"id":17283,"date":"2026-09-22T19:32:16","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T16:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pse.mu.edu.iq\/?p=17283"},"modified":"2026-09-22T19:32:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T16:32:16","slug":"college-of-education-for-pure-sciences-holds-the-masters-thesis-defence-of-mustafa-ghani-khalil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pse.mu.edu.iq\/?p=17283&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"College of Education for Pure Sciences Holds the Master&#8217;s Thesis Defence of Mustafa Ghani Khalil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>College of Education for Pure Sciences Holds the Master&#039;s Thesis Defence of Mustafa Ghani Khalil<\/p>\n<p>The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Al-Muthanna held the defence of the master&#039;s thesis of student Mustafa Ghani Khalil, entitled &quot;Genetic Characterization of Beta-Lactamase Resistance Genes and Antimicrobial Susceptibility in Salmonella Isolates&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>The thesis aimed to isolate and identify Salmonella from various food sources using culture methods, determine serotypes using the Vitek technique, determine antibiotic-resistance patterns, confirm the identity of isolates molecularly by detecting the Salmonella-specific invA gene, study the phylogenetic relationship of local isolates compared with international isolates registered in the NCBI database using gene sequencing, and detect the antibiotic-resistance genes blaTEM and blaCTX-M responsible for resistance to \u03b2-lactam antibiotics using molecular methods.<\/p>\n<p>The examination committee consisted of:<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Firas Sarhan Abd, College of Science, University of Al-Qadisiyah \u2013 Chair<\/p>\n<p>Asst.
